CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has issued a reaction against the judiciary regarding T24 columnist and journalist Tolga Şardan, who was detained due to his report on the “National Intelligence Organization’s judicial report.”
In a post on his social media account, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "The Palace, which has turned the judiciary into its backyard and sidelined judges and prosecutors who perform their profession with honor, is now chasing after journalists."
Kılıçdaroğlu's post is as follows:
''The Palace, which has turned the judiciary into its backyard and sidelined judges and prosecutors who perform their profession with honor, is now chasing after journalists. Instead of doing what is required by the MIT report, journalist Tolga Şardan, who exposed the rot, is being detained. This decision must be reversed immediately.''
Yargıyı arka bahçesi haline getiren, onuruyla mesleğini yapan hakim-savcıları kızağa çeken Saray, gazetecilerin peşine düşmüş. MİT raporunun gereğini yapacağına, çürümüşlüğü gözler önüne seren Gazeteci Tolga Şardan gözaltına alınıyor. Bu karardan derhal dönülmelidir.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation on October 31, 2023, on the grounds that the article titled "What is in the 'judicial report' presented by the MIT to the Presidency?" written by Tolga Şardan on the news website T24.com.tr contained statements that constitute the elements of the crime of "Publicly Spreading Misleading Information" as regulated in Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).
Şardan, whose home was searched, was detained on charges of "publicly spreading misleading information" within the scope of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
