Kılıçdaroğlu references Erdoğan's Hatay remarks in February 6 message

CHP's 7th Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu shared a memorial message on his X account this evening for the anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes, accompanied by a video of the Antakya Civilizations Choir performing the song "Yara Bere" (Bruised and Wounded).

With the words he included in the video, 'Bruised and wounded; as he speaks, a country standing on the edge of a cliff,' Kılıçdaroğlu also alluded to the remarks made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan in Hatay.

Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following in his message:

“Bruised and wounded; as he speaks, a country standing on the edge of a cliff...

On the 1st anniversary of the February 6, 2023 earthquakes, one of the greatest disasters in our history, which left behind a heart-wrenching pain that will never subside and whose wreckage remains on the ground and in our hearts, I remember those we lost with sorrow and mercy.

To ensure that the same pains are not experienced again, every effort to build safe cities by taking into account the warnings and suggestions of our scientists, and to increase earthquake awareness and consciousness, is the primary responsibility of the government and local administrators; it is a debt of honor to our history, our culture, and those we lost in these disasters due to negligence.”
