Kılıçdaroğlu's statement on 'trustee' and 'absolute nullity': CHP cannot be handed over to a trustee

The potential 'absolute nullity' and 'trustee' decision in the CHP continues to be a subject of debate ahead of the hearing scheduled for June 30. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who lost the chairmanship race to Özgür Özel in the November 2023 congress, stated in his remarks to TGRT Ankara Representative Fatih Atik, "The CHP cannot be handed over to a trustee; the party's DNA is being tampered with."

The debates within the CHP following the congress have returned to the agenda as the June 30 court date approaches. In the November 2023 congress, Özgür Özel was elected chairman with the votes of 812 delegates, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu remained at 536 votes.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who is alleged to be returning to the head of the party if an 'absolute nullity' decision is issued in the congress lawsuit, made a striking statement to TGRT Ankara Representative Fatih Atik, saying, "The CHP's DNA is being tampered with."

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu spoke about the trustee and 'absolute nullity' debates occurring within the party in his statement.

Kılıçdaroğlu said, "There is no such thing as 'I do not recognize the court's decision.' If I do not accept it, a trustee will come. It is unclear how a trustee would manage the party or when they would convene a congress. The CHP cannot be handed over to a trustee. The CHP's DNA is currently being tampered with. I cannot allow this."
