Killer of Fatih Karagümrük Club Manager Yunus Yıldız apprehended

The incident occurred on the morning of October 14 at approximately 07:25 in a 4-story building located on Fundalar Çıkmazı Street in the İdealtepe neighborhood of Maltepe. According to allegations, an argument broke out between Fatih Karagümrük Sports Club Manager Yunus Yıldız and his brother-in-law Malik A. As the argument escalated, Malik A. opened fire on Yunus Yıldız, who had left the house following the dispute.

HE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL ON HIS OWN

Yıldız was wounded as a result of the gunfire. Despite going to the hospital on his own, Yıldız could not be saved despite all interventions.

While Yıldız lost his life, the murder suspect, his brother-in-law Malik A., went into hiding.

APPREHENDED IN YALOVA

Following the incident, teams from the Public Security Branch Office, Murder Bureau took action. As a result of their diligent work, they determined that the suspect, Malik A., had fled to Yalova. Tracking his trail, the murder investigation teams went to Yalova and apprehended the suspect, Malik A., shortly thereafter. The suspect, who was caught with the handgun believed to have been used in the incident, was brought to Istanbul for questioning.

CONFESSED TO THE MURDER: "I FIRED FROM ABOVE TO SCARE HIM"

The suspect, Malik A., who was questioned and gave his statement at the Murder Bureau in Gayrettepe, confessed to the murder. In his statement, he noted that he was sleeping in the living room of his house on the morning of the incident, and when he woke up, he saw his brother-in-law in the house, which led to an argument between them. Stating that Yunus Yıldız went outside to his vehicle after the argument, the suspect said, "I fired from above to scare him." Having completed his procedures at the police station, the suspect was sent to the courthouse. The suspect, Malik A., who was referred to the court with a request for arrest, was remanded in custody and sent to prison.
