In accordance with the calendar announced by the Ministry of National Education, kindergarten and primary school 1st-grade students began their education today as part of orientation week.

Following the announcement, some students began traveling to their schools by shuttle bus, while others were taken to school by their parents in private vehicles.

Vehicles hitting the roads since the early morning hours have caused heavy traffic in many parts of Istanbul.

Due to it also being the first workday of the week, traffic reached 60 percent. With the opening of schools, shuttle buses have also taken to the roads.

Parents who wanted to take their children to school in their own vehicles during orientation week also contributed to the heavy traffic alongside the shuttle buses.
