Lack of jurisdiction decision in the case of the suspect who attacked Cübbeli Ahmet
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a decision of lack of jurisdiction in the investigation conducted for the crime of 'simple assault' regarding the attack on Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known to the public as 'Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca'. The file has been sent to the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

On September 7, 2024, in Küçükçekmece, an individual attacked Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as 'Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca', as he was leaving an opening ceremony. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which had initiated an investigation due to suspicions that the matter might be linked to terrorism, issued a decision of lack of jurisdiction regarding the file on the grounds that the crime in question, in terms of 'simple assault', was committed in Küçükçekmece.
VERBAL AND PHYSICAL ATTACK
In the decision of lack of jurisdiction issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, it was stated that the opening of the Şifahane Madrasa took place in Küçükçekmece on the date of the incident, that Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as 'Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca', attended this opening, and that at the end of the program, an individual named Ali A. carried out a verbal and physical attack on Ünlü as he was about to get into his vehicle.
FILE SENT TO KÜÇÜKÇEKMECE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In the decision, it was noted that although an investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following the incident due to suspicions of a potential terror link, a decision of lack of jurisdiction was issued regarding the file on the grounds that the suspect Ali A. committed the aforementioned 'simple assault' crime in Küçükçekmece. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has sent the file to the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the 'simple assault' charge.
