Istanbul's dam occupancy rates are showing an increase following the rainfall that has been effective in the city in recent days. According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of the dams located in the megacity has risen to 63.59 percent.
The drought experienced across the country last year and rainfall below seasonal norms had brought the dams supporting Istanbul to the point of drying up. However, with the recent rainfall, water levels in the dams have begun to return to normal. The occupancy rate, which had fallen to 16.18 percent on November 11, is now recorded at 63.59 percent.
