Lawsuit against SADAT: Former employee demands unpaid wages

SADAT (International Defense Consultancy Inc.), which has been associated with parallel structures and paramilitary activities, is now in the spotlight due to a lawsuit filed under labor law. According to information shared with the public by journalist Erk Acarer, one of the institution's former employees, Halime Gizer, has filed a lawsuit against SADAT at the Bakırköy 33rd Labor Court.

EXTRA WORK, BONUSES, OVERTIME, AND ANNUAL LEAVE PAYMENTS DEMANDED  

In the lawsuit filed under case number 2023/251, the petition submitted to the court by the plaintiff Gizer's lawyer, Mehmet Koç, alleges that overtime, bonuses, travel and meal expenses, annual leave, and other personal rights have not been paid. The petition also includes allegations that the client was subjected to pressure and that access to accounting software was blocked.

WITNESSES ALSO REPORT SIMILAR GRIEVANCES  

Three individuals included in the witness list submitted to the court are making similar allegations. While the witnesses' statements highlight extra work and unpaid wages, some systematic problems regarding working conditions within SADAT are also reflected in the case file.

NEW CONTROVERSIES SURROUNDING SADAT  

Journalist Erk Acarer, in a post on his X account, recalled that SADAT has been associated with dreams of establishing an Islamic State and with illegal structures in certain foreign countries (Libya, Syria, Somalia), and interpreted this lawsuit as the "inner face of a fake paramilitary structure." 

Acarer criticized SADAT harshly, stating, "Those who wait for the Mahdi, those who dream of printing Islamic currency and making Istanbul the capital, have ended up in court because they could not pay their staff."

DEFENSE HAS NOT YET MADE A STATEMENT 

No public statement has been made regarding the matter by SADAT officials or by lawyers Abdullah Usame Ceran and Enes Malik Saran, whose names appear as representatives in the case file.
