It has emerged that family members held a meeting one day before Narin's lifeless body was found.
Onur Akdağ, the lawyer for Salim Güran, made a statement regarding the footage in question. Stating that the meeting took place upon the 'instructions' of the gendarmerie, Akdağ said, "The gendarmerie wanted the Güran family to speak with this individual."
Uncle Salim Güran’s lawyer, Onur Akdağ, made a statement on social media regarding the footage. Lawyer Akdağ used the following expressions:
“1- These recordings are footage taken from Erhan Güran's home security camera.
2- Erhan Güran had the camera installed in his home on September 4 and never deleted the camera footage. The footage is already present in the case file. Allegations that the recordings were brought in later are completely baseless.
'IT TOOK PLACE UPON THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE GENDARMERIE COMMANDER'
3- Although some manipulative news reports have been made calling it a secret meeting, this discussion took place with the knowledge and direct instructions of the gendarmerie commander.
4- Upon an intelligence officer suspecting the contradictory statements and actions of the shepherd Ahmet Akgün, who is the cousin of Nevzat Bahtiyar's maternal uncle, the gendarmerie wanted the Güran family to speak with this individual. Furthermore, the individual in question has already had his statement taken by the gendarmerie.
5- The conversation in the footage takes place on September 7, the night of the day our daughter Narin was found.
'FAKE NEWS'
6- When the cousin of Nevzat's maternal uncle exhibited panicked and suspicious behavior, the family felt the need to speak with this individual regarding whether he had seen the child on the day of the incident, and if so, at what time.
7- The allegations in the media based on the footage that the family held a meeting to prevent the individual in question from speaking are completely baseless and, like many others, constitute fake news.”
