Lawyer who distributed İmamoğlu's posts on the street arrested: Accused of insulting the President

Following the blocking of the social media X account of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested in the March 19 operation, lawyer Burak Saldıroğlu, who printed out İmamoğlu's posts and distributed them on the streets and shared these images on his social media account, has been arrested on charges of 'insulting the President'.

Lawyer Burak Saldıroğlu, the former head of the CHP Beykoz Youth Branch, was detained on allegations that he printed out the posts of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, distributed them on the streets, and shared these images on his social media account.

After his procedures at the police station, Saldıroğlu was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan and then sent to the Criminal Court of Peace on charges of 'insulting the President'. The court decided to arrest lawyer Saldıroğlu.

His colleagues, who followed the developments throughout the day both at the police station and the courthouse, protested the arrest decision with applause.
