A woman who earned an alleged 100 thousand liras in just 1 hour by broadcasting obscene content on TikTok, the world's most popular live streaming and video sharing platform, sparked a major debate and wave of commentary on social media.

Police took action by raiding the residence of the suspect, G.D., in Kartal. G.D. was detained and subsequently taken to the Public Security Branch Directorate in Gayrettepe for processing. G.D. was referred to the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under the instruction of the prosecutor. It was determined that G.D. is 5 months pregnant.

The Public Security Branch Directorate's Morality Bureau teams launched an operation after determining that obscene live broadcasts were being made on the TikTok platform in exchange for money. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect, G.H., was unbuttoning her shirt in exchange for money.

Police raided G.H.'s residence in Kartal and detained the suspect. G.H. was brought to the Public Security Branch Directorate in Gayrettepe. Following her processing at the Morality Bureau, G.H. was referred to the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under the instruction of the prosecutor. After her statement to the prosecutor, G.H. was referred to the judgeship to be released under judicial control conditions. The Anatolian 10th Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to release G.H. with a travel ban and judicial control conditions.

Following this incident, the Ministry of Family and Social Services issued a statement requesting the removal of the content in question and the blocking of access to it. Furthermore, a criminal complaint was filed against the individual.

"It has been deemed appropriate to make the following statement regarding the news reports in some media outlets about a TikTok user collecting gifts and donations through inappropriate images. It has been understood that the posts made by the social media user who is the subject of the news contain images that will negatively affect the psychosocial development of children, and include visuals that are insulting, degrading, and offensive to the dignity, honor, and reputation of individuals, as well as involving the neglect and abuse of children. Our General Directorate of Legal Services has requested the removal of the mentioned content, the blocking of access to it, and has filed a criminal complaint against the individual."
