Search efforts continue for the nine workers who were trapped under the soil during the landslide that occurred on February 13 at the cyanide-leaching gold mine in the İliç district of Erzincan.

Başaran Aksu, an organizing expert for the Independent Mine Workers Union, announced on his X account that Anagold has granted administrative leave to workers until April 1 with the following statement:

“Due to the fact that our production activities have been halted while this difficult and intense work process continues, the areas indicated on the map below have been closed, and instructions have been given for only search and rescue and crisis management personnel to be on-site, all our employees who are not assigned within this scope will be considered on administrative leave until April 1, 2024.”
