'Left-wing alliance' wins Turkish Medical Association election

The 76th Elective Grand Congress of the Turkish Medical Association has concluded. According to unofficial results, the election was won by the Effective Democratic TMA-Medical Chambers Initiative alliance.

The 76th Elective Grand Congress of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), which began on June 28 under the slogan "TTB is Ours for Non-violent, Safe, and Secure Medicine," has concluded. On the final day of the three-day congress, voting took place at the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Morphology Building cafeteria.

Two groups participated in the elections for the Central Council, the High Honor Board, and the Supervisory Board: the Effective Democratic TMA-Medical Chambers Initiative Alliance and the Contemporary Turkish Physicians Union.

LIST TO SERVE FOR TWO YEARS

In the elections, 458 out of 487 delegates cast their votes. All votes were considered valid.

According to unofficial results, the Effective Democratic TMA-Medical Chambers Initiative Alliance won the election. The names included in the new administration, which will serve for the 2024-2026 term, are as follows:

Central Council: Alpay Azap, Mehmet Şerif Demir, Murat Erkan, Güzide Elitez, Ali Kanatlı, Ali Osman Karababa, Ali Karakoç, Hilmi Önder Okay, Mualla Pınar Saip, Ayşegül Ateş Tarla, Nilüfer Ustael.

High Honor Board: Gürcan Altun, Naki Bulut, Gülnihal Bülbül, Mustafa Taner Gören, Türkan Günay, Mustafa Cumhur İzgi, Aynur Karadenizli, Serdar Onat, Figen Şahpaz.

Supervisory Board: Ebru Gelgeç, Rüşan Sümbüloğlu, Ramazan Zeybek.
