Legal action taken against woman accused of verbally harassing academic's daughter
Legal proceedings have been initiated for the crimes of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting" against a woman accused of verbally harassing the 6-year-old daughter of Tacettin Kutay, an academic at the Turkish-German University and a columnist for Akşam newspaper.

Kutay shared a video regarding the incident on his social media account and stated the following:
"I was walking with my 6-year-old daughter, Fulya, in Göztepe. She wanted to sing a hymn and began reciting 'Ey aşıkı dildade.' As she was saying 'Lailahe illallah Muhammedurrasulullah,' the woman in the video was passing by us.
She stopped and asked Fulya, 'Where do they teach you these things, in kindergarten?' I said, 'I teach her.' She replied, 'You are brainwashing these tiny children with this nonsense.
I am a university professor; what ignorant people you are.' This unbridled behavior and lack of consciousness have reached the point of verbally harassing six-year-old children in the middle of the street. You can imagine the rest."
According to the information obtained, after Kutay called the police, the suspect, identified as M.G. (73), was taken to the police station for processing, and both parties filed complaints against each other.
Legal proceedings were initiated against M.G., who is reported to be a retired nurse, for the crimes of "inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting," and against Kutay for the crime of "insult."
The individuals, whose files were sent to the courthouse for completion, were released from the police station by judicial authorities.
