Legal expert Eminağaoğlu references GME in response to Barrack's PKK statement: 'How could it be expressed more clearly'

Stating that Turkey and Syria have become allies, U.S. Special Representative for Syria and Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack said, "There is another organization that is not affiliated with the PKK: the SDF and YPG. They have become our allies in the fight against ISIS. Their origins were based in the PKK, but the situation is different today."

Reminding that the U.S. still considers the PKK a foreign terrorist organization, Barrack used the following expressions:

"Turkey is an ally of Syria. They have the PKK, which is defined as a foreign terrorist organization in Turkey. The U.S. has also designated the PKK as a terrorist organization. However, there is now another structure that has no ties to the PKK: the SDF and YPG. They have become our allies in the fight against ISIS.
