MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy has submitted a legislative proposal to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey aimed at preventing sentence reductions for serious crimes committed against women and children and increasing the penalties for such offenses.

In the legislative proposal, which addresses the rise in violence, abuse, and murder cases against women and children in recent years, Baki Ersoy proposes the removal of good conduct reductions, unjust provocation reductions, and similar mitigating factors for crimes of murder, injury, and sexual assault committed against women and children. The proposal emphasizes that perpetrators of these crimes should be punished in the most severe manner and that these offenders should not be eligible for sentence deferment, conversion to fines, or probation.
