Retired Rear Admiral Türker Ertürk, who was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been transferred from Metris Prison to the Marmara Closed Penal Institution No. 4 in Silivri.

Ertürk's lawyer, Ayhan Yıldızel, shared with the public a letter his client wrote to his supporters from prison. In his letter, Ertürk stated, "Unfortunately, we continue to pay the price in a country where there is no rule of law."

In his letter, Ertürk evaluated the process regarding his case and maintained that he had done nothing wrong. Ertürk said, "I will continue to serve my country with loyalty, just as I have until today."

Stating that he has received and continues to receive messages sent to him, Ertürk expressed that these messages give him strength. Ertürk noted that his morale and motivation are at the "highest level" thanks to this support.

An investigation had been launched into Ertürk due to statements he made during a television program he attended. Within the scope of the investigation, he is being accused of "threatening to create fear and panic among the public" and "incitement to commit a crime."

Lawyer Yıldızel, on the other hand, argued that the arrest decision lacks legal basis, stating that the words subject to the investigation were spoken approximately three and a half years ago.

According to the information provided by Yıldızel, visits to Ertürk in prison are limited only to designated family members. Special permission applications can be made to the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for exceptional visits. It was reported that closed visits are held on Wednesdays between 14:00 and 14:40.
