A letter to her father from Vera, daughter of Tayfun Kahraman: 'I wish to play snowballs with you'

Vera, the daughter of urban planning expert Dr. Tayfun Kahraman—who was arrested in the Gezi Park case and served as the Head of the Earthquake Risk Management and Urban Improvement Department at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) before the verdict—sent a letter to her father expressing her New Year's wishes. Vera's mother, Meriç Kahraman, shared the letter on X.

Tayfun Kahraman's wife, Dr. Meriç Demir Kahraman, shared the letter written by their daughter Vera to her father, Tayfun Kahraman, on her X account.

"I AM WAITING FOR YOU TO COME HOME RIGHT AWAY"

Vera wrote the following in her letter:

"My dear daddy, I wish for you to come home right away, but my wishes don't come true. Mom said that some wishes, even if they are late, definitely come true. That's why I keep wishing. This year, I wish for you to come home right away, for it to snow a lot, to play snowballs with you, and for two hair clips, one with a pine tree and one with Santa Claus. Four wishes is a lot, I don't want anything else. I have my toys, we will play when you come. Daddy, I love you very much. I am waiting for you to come home right away. Vera."
