Letters have begun to be sent to individuals whose pensions will be cancelled: SGK demands they provide statements
As the Social Security Institution (SGK) reviews the premium payments of millions of retirees retroactively, the teams established for this practice continue to summon retirees to provide statements in cases of detected or suspected irregularities.

With this practice, which has increased in recent years, notifications have begun to be sent to the homes of thousands of retirees in the new year as well.
According to the report in Sözcü, the SGK, which has tightened inspections for those who registered themselves as insured to gain retirement rights despite not actually working in any job and who obtained retirement rights through 'shell companies,' requested in the warning text it sent that retirees caught in these investigations come to the district SGK offices within 3 business days to provide a statement.
PREMIUM PAYMENTS WILL BE DELETED FROM THE SYSTEM
In these inspections, if it is concluded that the retirees were not engaged in actual work activity during the suspicious time period, the premium payments subject to the irregularity will be deleted from the system. While it is expected that many people will lose their retirement rights with this change, the restrictions will not be limited to the cancellation of the monthly pension.
Citizens who have been receiving retirement pensions for a long time will also be forced to repay the retirement pensions they have received to date, along with legal interest, if it is determined as a result of these investigations that they committed an irregularity.
10-YEAR WARNING FROM EXPERTS
SGK experts stated that retroactive investigations can be carried out for 10 years from the date of retirement, while pointing out that the statute of limitations applies to inspections exceeding this period. In other words, even if it is concluded that a retiree caught in an investigation committed an irregularity, if 10 years have passed since the date the retirement pension was granted, cancellation or repayment penalties cannot be applied.
