License of restaurant serving in military uniform in Beyoğlu revoked
The tourism business license of a restaurant that made headlines on the social media platform TikTok for having a waiter dressed in a military uniform serve foreign customers has been revoked by the CHP-run Beyoğlu Municipality.

The CHP-run Beyoğlu Municipality issued a statement regarding the incident where service was provided in a military uniform at a restaurant in the district. The statement indicated that the restaurant's Tourism Business License, as well as its Tourism Business Plaque and Open Alcoholic Beverage Sales License, have been revoked.
Moments showing a waiter wearing a military uniform serving foreign customers at a luxury restaurant had become a trending topic on the social media platform TikTok. Following the footage, the Istanbul Governor's Office announced that 3 individuals, who were undocumented migrants working without insurance, had been detained.
A statement regarding the matter also came from the Beyoğlu Municipality.
BUSINESS LICENSE REVOKED
The written statement said the following:
Necessary preliminary work has been carried out regarding the issue that has been shared on various social media platforms in recent days and has become a matter of public concern. An investigation has been initiated by our Municipality regarding the business against which the Istanbul Governor's Office has launched judicial proceedings for the crime of 'Insulting the Turkish Nation, the Republic, and the Institutions and Organs of the State.' The Tourism Business License of the business in question has been revoked, and its Tourism Business Plaque and Open Alcoholic Beverage Sales License have been collected by our teams. The result of the process, which we have carried out meticulously in cooperation with the Istanbul Governor's Office and the Beyoğlu District Governorate, is respectfully announced to the public.
