Heavy rainfall in the Cizre district of Şırnak has caused flooding. As a result of the flooding, which led to water accumulation on streets and avenues, a woman and a child attempting to cross the street in the Cudi neighborhood were swept away by floodwaters.

It was reported that the woman and child, who were rescued by bystanders, are in good health. The moment was captured on a citizen's mobile phone camera.

Due to the flood, some homes and businesses were flooded in the Yafes, Sur, Cudi, and Konak neighborhoods.

In the Yafes neighborhood, a municipal passenger minibus became stranded on the road. Passengers were evacuated from the minibus with the help of fire crews and bystanders.

In the Nur neighborhood, a parked car was swept away by the water and became stuck in a culvert.

Crews cleared the clogged drains.

Hail and heavy rainfall, which also affected the Silopi district, caused flooding in some homes and businesses and disrupted transportation on the Silk Road (İpekyolu).

Drivers struggled to move their vehicles due to water accumulation on the streets. There were disruptions in traffic.

GOVERNOR CONDUCTS INSPECTIONS

Governor Cevdet Atay received information from District Governor Nazlı Demir regarding the areas affected by the flood in Cizre and inspected a 1,500-person sports hall in the Konak neighborhood that sustained roof damage due to the wind.

Atay and Demir conducted inspections in the flood-affected Nur neighborhood and conveyed their "get well soon" wishes to the citizens.

In the district, water evacuation efforts by the Şırnak Municipality and AFAD teams continue in homes and businesses affected by the flood.
