Lifeless bodies of mother and father recovered from rubble in Gebze: After 19 hours
The lifeless bodies of the father, Levent Bilir, and the mother, Emine Bilir, were recovered in the 19th hour of search and rescue operations at the site of a building that collapsed yesterday morning, which was revealed to have been home to a family of five.

A 7-story building collapsed in the Gebze district of Kocaeli. During search and rescue operations, the lifeless bodies of two children from the family of five were recovered. 18-year-old Dilara Bilir was pulled from the rubble alive hours later. Following 19 hours of work by hundreds of people, one more person was recovered from the wreckage.
The 7-story building on Issıkgöl Street in the Mevlana neighborhood collapsed yesterday at around 07:30 for reasons yet unknown.
Upon notification, police, fire department, AFAD, and medical teams were dispatched to the area.
While teams beginning search and rescue operations in the rubble reached the lifeless bodies of two siblings, the family's 18-year-old daughter, Dilara, was rescued alive.
LIFELESS BODIES OF MOTHER AND FATHER REACHED
In the 19th hour of search and rescue operations, the lifeless body of the father, Levent Bilir (44), was reached.
While the father's body was taken to the hospital morgue, the lifeless body of the mother, Emine Bilir, was also recovered from the rubble shortly thereafter.

Photographs and notes belonging to the family found in the rubble were heartbreaking. A note hanging on the wall reading "Happy birthday to our middle child" and a photograph of Nisa drew attention.
