Lawyer Feyza Altun met with Dilan Polat, who was once in the spotlight over allegations of "money laundering," and held a live broadcast. Because Altun was one of the figures who brought many of Polat's issues to the public agenda and leveled harsh criticisms against her, the duo's live broadcast sparked backlash.
Following the reactions, lawyer Altun made statements regarding the matter on Sözcü TV. In her remarks on the program "Gördüm Duydum Konuştum" (I Saw, I Heard, I Spoke), Altun stated the following:
"I did not receive any money from anyone. My opinions have not changed either. I have seen Dilan Polat in person twice. She was crying a lot during our first meeting when we hugged. You cannot push away a person who is crying. This was my second meeting. She called me, saying she felt very bad. I didn't want to go, but she insisted. I didn't even know her home address. I said, 'I will come because I am concerned about your health, provided you don't film it.' I told her, 'You are a person who has become an object of hatred; you shouldn't be this ignorant. Your husband is evading taxes, you are being tried for money laundering, this country will never feel sympathy for you. Your money is not earned honestly.'"
"SHE IS TRYING TO CLEAR HER NAME THROUGH ME"
I don't think Dilan is a bad girl. I think she is ill. She needs treatment. She abused my good feelings toward her. She is trying to clear her name through me. I do not accept this. I am very angry that she put me in this situation. She is receiving a lot of backlash and doesn't even understand why. The phone has become an extension of Dilan Polat's body. Even though she knows she shouldn't, she cannot help herself. I hope the public will forgive me for occupying their time. If there is a third meeting, people should spit in my face."
