Five people have been detained for seizing the properties of victims in exchange for money they provided. It has emerged that the gang valued the 5-story property belonging to the wife of psychiatrist Haydar Dümen, who passed away in 2022, at 30 million lira—far below its actual value—and after paying 8 million 77 thousand lira, they took the money back and transferred the building into their own names.

In a loan sharking operation conducted in Istanbul and Tekirdağ, 5 people were detained on charges of seizing the properties of victims in exchange for the money they provided.
According to the allegations, the leader of the loan sharking network, Tanju A., and other gang members provided loans to individuals in financial distress and demanded collateral in return. The gang members, who had the collateral transferred at land registry offices under the guise of 'property sales,' sent money to the victims' bank accounts for these sales, only to have the victims withdraw the money on the same day and return it to them.
Haydar Dümen's wife, Gülten Dümen, filed a complaint against the loan sharks who defrauded her.
DETAILS OF THE OPERATION
During the searches, 18 title deeds, 5 bank receipts, 16 purchase and sale agreements, one contract, and 14 invoices were seized. While Tanju A., who could not be detained during the operation, remains a fugitive, Tanju A.'s brother, CHP Silivri District Municipal Council Member Rıza A., was also detained as part of the operation. It is alleged that the gang members carried out a total fraud of 300 million lira.
VALUED AT 30 MILLION TL
One of the victims was the wife of the late psychiatrist Haydar Dümen. According to the allegations and the findings of the financial crimes police, Gülten Dümen, the wife of psychiatrist Haydar Dümen who passed away two years ago, contacted the gang members due to financial difficulties. Gülten Dümen wanted to sell her 5-story property in Cihangir, Beyoğlu. The members of the "loan shark" gang valued the property at 30 million lira, which is far below its actual value. Only 8 million 77 thousand lira of that amount was paid.
4 GANG MEMBERS ARE BEING SOUGHT
At that time, the sale was conducted through a notary, and the building in question was transferred to gang member Emrah E. Mustafa Akışık, who was victimized using the same technique as the complainant Gülten Dümen, also allegedly transferred one of his properties to a company named "Salvador" in 2022.
Mustafa Akışık, who applied to the police and filed a complaint, stated that his daily loss was 100 thousand lira. It was stated that efforts to capture 4 gang members, including the fugitive Tanju A., are ongoing.
