The Republican People's Party (CHP) is raising its voice against the rapid expropriation of 679 parcels in seven villages around the Akbelen Forest by presidential decree. In response to this development, the CHP Muğla Provincial Organization will hold a large-scale rally at Atapark Square in Milas on Sunday, February 15, at 14:00. The party's Chairman, Özgür Özel, will also attend the rally.

Officials, pointing out that the rural population in the region is suffering a loss of rights due to the expropriation procedures in Akbelen, emphasized that the planned gathering will not only be a step of local solidarity but will also carry a message to all of Turkey regarding expropriation policies.

The event is expected to receive strong support not only from Akbelen and the surrounding villages but also from nearby districts.

Citizens living in İkizköy, in their own statement, invited all citizens to come together, saying, "These lands are our future. We do not accept the usurpation of our property rights through decisions made overnight, nor the erasure of our villages from the map. Let us meet at the rally organized by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in Milas against the urgent expropriation!"
