A new regulation regarding the purchase of vehicles by disabled individuals within the scope of SCT exemption has been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force. The regulation introduces both a domestic production ratio and a time restriction for vehicles covered by the exemption.

EXEMPTION FOR SECOND VEHICLE REMOVED BEFORE 10 YEARS

According to the regulation, if disabled individuals purchase a second vehicle before 10 years have passed since their first purchase with SCT exemption, the exemption will not be applied to this vehicle. Thus, a 10-year time limit has been introduced.

40 PERCENT DOMESTIC PRODUCTION REQUIREMENT

A domestic production ratio requirement has been introduced for vehicles to be purchased within the scope of SCT exemption. Accordingly, at least 40 percent of the vehicles that disabled individuals will purchase must be domestically produced.

In Turkey, the prices of vehicles that meet the conditions for SCT exemption start from 500 thousand TL. On the other hand, the social assistance amounts for disabled individuals have been determined as follows:

3 thousand 723 TL per month for those with a disability report between 40-69 percent

5 thousand 584 TL per month for those with a disability report of 70 percent and above
