LÖSEV files lawsuit against Gülriz Sururi's niece!

LÖSEV has filed a lawsuit against Çiğdem Sururi, the niece of the artist Gülriz Sururi, who passed away 6 years ago, regarding her inheritance. It was stated that in her will, Sururi left 2,500 dollars to LÖSEV, and the foundation has requested that this amount be paid along with legal interest.

SURURİ'S INHERITANCE ENDS UP IN COURT

Stating that the artist, who passed away 6 years ago, had left them 2,500 dollars in the will she prepared, the Foundation for Children with Leukemia (LÖSEV) filed a lawsuit against the artist's cousin, Çiğdem Sururi, for the 'execution of the will'.

The petition for the lawsuit filed at the Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance stated, "In the will she prepared at the Beyoğlu 48th Notary Public, Gülriz Sururi bequeathed that 2,500 dollars in her bank account be left to LÖSEV. This will of Gülriz Sururi was read and determined at the 1st Civil Court of Peace, and this decision has become final."

LÖSEV DEMANDS PAYMENT

Noting that according to the certificate of inheritance, Gülriz Sururi's heir is her cousin Çiğdem Sururi, the petition included the following statements: "In her statement to the court during the case for the certificate of inheritance, Çiğdem Sururi accepted the will, saying, 'Gülriz Sururi is my uncle's daughter. I accept the will prepared by her. I have no objections to the will.'"

For these reasons, LÖSEV has requested that Gülriz Sururi's will be executed and that the 2,500 dollars be paid along with legal interest.
