Luxury vehicle operation with forged documents at Kapıkule!
Luxury vehicles that were attempted to be brought into Turkey using forged retirement documents were seized at the Kapıkule Border Gate. An investigation has been launched by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.

Teams from the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement, affiliated with the Ministry of Trade, continue their operations against attempts to bring vehicles into Turkey with forged documents. Most recently, it was determined that individuals posing as retirees abroad were attempting to bring luxury vehicles into Turkey through illegal means.
It was determined that these individuals were attempting to bring foreign-plated vehicles, which are not permitted for use in Turkey for a two-year period, into the country using forged retirement documents purported to have been issued by Bulgarian authorities. In the efforts carried out under the coordination of the Thrace Regional Directorate of Customs and Foreign Trade, the suspicious documents were obtained from Bulgaria and a verification process was initiated.
Edirne Customs Enforcement teams seized numerous vehicles worth millions of liras. As the operations are ongoing, the number of vehicles seized has not yet been disclosed.
An investigation has been launched by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the individuals involved in the illegal vehicle entry attempt on suspicion of forging documents.
