The Uysal couple applied to the Mersin 3rd Civil Court of First Instance. In the couple's petition, it was stated that the fact that Ece Uysal's license plate was visible in the news reports posed a great danger to her safety.
In the petition, it was noted that Ece Uysal is in the public eye due to her husband, and that her father previously served as the Chief Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court; it was claimed that because her license plate and other information are on the internet, she could become a target for terrorist organizations.
The Uysal couple requested that the news reports and posts be blocked from access for these reasons.
The court accepted the request and issued an access ban for 402 news reports and social media posts.
It had emerged that most of the luxury vehicles, which were served for days in media close to the government as if they belonged to Ekrem İmamoğlu, actually belonged to MHP deputy Levent Uysal and his wife Ece Uysal.
