Luxury yacht of Muhammed Yarız, arrested in fund investigation, sparks controversy

A new allegation has emerged regarding the assets of Pusula Portföy Chairman of the Board Muhammed Yarız, who was arrested as part of the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman and Balıkesir MP Turhan Çömez shared a promotional video on his social media account of a "super luxury" yacht named "Loretta," which he stated belongs to the 28-year-old Yarız.

While it is stated that it was determined during the investigation that Yarız sent 25 million euros to an account in Switzerland, Çömez claimed in his post that Yarız was previously a member of the board of directors of the AKP İstanbul Youth Branch.

Çömez argued that Yarız had been subject to temporary trading bans and fines since 2020 due to "market-disrupting" actions, and alleged that he was made Chairman of the Board of Pusula Portföy despite this.

In his post, Çömez also claimed that in addition to the yacht, Yarız bought a speedboat "to satisfy his need for speed." The post in question has brought the discussions regarding Yarız's assets back to the agenda alongside the fund investigation.
