Mahir Polat, who was hospitalized, announces his health status

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat has made a statement regarding his health condition after being hospitalized last night due to severe chest pain and spasms.

Polat, who was taken to the hospital due to the possibility of a heart attack, stated that he is feeling better today, saying, "I was hospitalized yesterday due to severe chest pains, spasms, and simultaneous left arm pain; I was kept under observation in the cardiology department by the decision of my doctors."

Stating that he has been continuing a cardiac treatment program due to health problems that have persisted intermittently for a long time, Polat thanked those who visited him and the citizens who conveyed their well wishes.

Polat had been arrested as part of the investigation into the 'city consensus' (kent uzlaşısı) regarding the IMM, and was later placed under house arrest due to health issues such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and sleep apnea. He returned to his duties after the house arrest decision was lifted.
