Mahmut Tanal, who was attacked in Parliament, hospitalized: AKP's Gökçek threw a punch

CHP deputies argued that Gürlek could not take the oath, claiming he had not resigned from his position as Chief Public Prosecutor. The AKP opposed this claim, stating that the process was in accordance with the Constitution. Deputy Speaker of the TBMM Bekir Bozdağ also stated that there was no procedural error.

Following this, AKP deputies also went to the podium, and tensions in Parliament rose. During the ensuing scuffle, it was observed that AKP Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek punched CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal. Images of Tanal's bleeding nose drew attention.

Tanal was taken to the hospital. It was learned that Servet Mullaoğlu was also assaulted along with Tanal. It was stated that Mullaoğlu also fell ill as a result of the blows he received and was hospitalized.
