Customs Enforcement teams examined declarations deemed risky as part of their anti-smuggling efforts.

The investigation determined that high-value commercial goods were being declared as low-value items and attempts were being made to bring them into the country through deceptive transactions and behaviors.

Following this, a detailed inspection carried out at the Mersin and Ambarlı customs ports in Istanbul resulted in the seizure of 534 thousand 940 sunglasses, 142 thousand 140 optical-style processed plastic lens glasses, 51 thousand 127 eyeglass frames, and 1,650 mops.

The investigation initiated by the Mersin and Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices regarding the incident is ongoing.
