Major blow to PKK: Terrorists wanted in red and gray categories neutralized! Yerlikaya shared footage of the operation

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that Zırav Taş, codenamed Hebun Piro Amed, the so-called Amed Province Commander of the PKK terrorist organization who was wanted in the red category, and Fehmi Başkurt, codenamed Botan, who was wanted in the gray category, were neutralized during the Gürz-14 operation conducted in Lice, Diyarbakır.

Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department and the Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Department, the Gürz-14 operation was carried out by the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command against the PKK terrorist organization in Lice.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that as a result of the operation, Zırav Taş, codenamed Hebun Piro Amed, the so-called Amed Province Commander of the PKK terrorist organization who was wanted in the red category, and Fehmi Başkurt, codenamed Botan, who was wanted in the gray category, were neutralized.

During the operation, 2 security guards were injured.

It was determined that the terrorists participated in a total of 6 acts in which 3 security personnel and 5 civilian citizens were martyred, and 4 security personnel were injured.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya provided the following information regarding the 6 acts in which the neutralized terrorists participated:

“The incident on April 8, 2020, in the rural area of Kulp District, Diyarbakır, where 5 civilian citizens were martyred as a result of the detonation of a mine/IED planted by terrorists during the passage of a vehicle carrying civilian citizens going to work in tree cutting on a dirt path,

The incident on January 9, 2021, in the rural area of Lice District, Diyarbakır, where 1 security officer was martyred and 3 security officers were injured in a clash during an operation,

The incident on June 5, 2021, in the rural area of Lice District, Diyarbakır, involving the detonation of an excavator used in road construction work by placing an IED on it,

The incident on June 22, 2022, in the rural area of Lice District, Diyarbakır, where 2 security officers were martyred and 1 security officer was injured during an operation,

The incident on April 30, 2023, in the rural area of Lice District, where an IED previously planted on the road by members of the separatist terrorist organization (BTÖ) was detonated during the passage of an armored vehicle while units of the Lice Gendarmerie Commando Battalion Command were moving during an operation,

The incident determined through the examination of digital materials seized from 2 members of the separatist terrorist organization (BTÖ) who were killed during an operation in the rural area of Lice District, Diyarbakır, on June 8, 2023, involving the abduction of 1 citizen at gunpoint on the grounds that they provided information to security forces.”
