DISRUPTION IN THE UK HEALTH SYSTEM

According to health officials who made a statement on social media, the UK's health booking system is currently "offline."

It was announced that passengers at Edinburgh Airport in the UK were unable to use automatic boarding pass scanners and that manual checks were being conducted.

Üstün said, “Necessary efforts are being made to resolve the issue and ensure our passengers do not suffer. We apologize for this disruption. We will provide you with information as soon as possible.”

Explaining that there is a software-related problem affecting many companies worldwide, Üstün said, “Necessary actions are being taken to resolve this issue in our partially affected operations. Our operations are gradually returning to normal. We apologize to our valued guests for the disruption experienced.”

Making statements regarding the problems experienced, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said:

"We will eliminate this by making the system operational as soon as possible. There is no cyberattack involved."

THY HAS CANCELED 84 FLIGHTS

Turkish Airlines (THY) has canceled 84 flights to prevent disruptions in flights.

In the statement where Microsoft 365 shared the current status regarding the resolution efforts, it was stated that some users might notice relief in their systems, but that problems persist in some Microsoft 365 applications and services.

Stating that efforts are continuing to rescue other affected Microsoft 365 applications and services from the ongoing impact, the statement shared the information, "Our telemetry shows that other affected situations are moving toward full recovery, and we are monitoring closely to ensure this."

In the statement, while it was shared that the affected services include Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft 365 admin center, it was stated that Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft OneNote, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Windows 365, Viva Engage, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, and PowerBI services have been recovered.

CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz also mentioned in an interview with international media that the problem was caused by a bug in a single update. Noting that they identified the problem quickly and made a fix, Kurtz said, "We are currently working with every single customer to ensure we can get them back online."

Saying that there was a negative interaction between the update in their systems and Microsoft's operating system, Kurtz said, "This led to computers crashing and triggered the global outage that is still ongoing. We need to look back and see what happened here, but there is no possibility of this being a cyberattack. The problem has been identified and a fix has been made. It will take some time for some systems to return to normal, and they will not fix themselves automatically."
