Major favor from Ali Erbaş to his relative! Retired from the Diyanet without ever going to work

It has been learned that Enver Başar, the brother-in-law of Ali Erbaş, who was appointed as an advisor at the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and retired without ever going to work, only holds a high school diploma.

According to a report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, Ali Erbaş appointed his wife Seher Erbaş's brother, Enver Başar, to the position of Presidential Advisor after taking the presidential seat, and kept this appointment hidden from the public. Başar, who was involved in lighting theater stages as a light operator, did not visit the Diyanet for many years. He earned the right to retire from the 'Diyanet Advisor' position, which he never actually performed.

CHP Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen brought the issue to the agenda in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), asking the question, "How many more of President Ali Erbaş's relatives are there in the Diyanet?" While the brother-in-law appointment sparked controversy, the fact that Enver Başar is only a high school graduate also came to light. While Başar was retired from the presidential advisor position, which is at the level of a provincial mufti, his appointment had been made using one of the four special advisory positions within the Diyanet.
