This decision by the company, which has been going through difficult times due to debts reaching 7.7 billion TL, has left 7,000 employees out of work. The company has closed a total of 537 branches.
EMPLOYEES REVOLT!
The company, which is the Turkish representative of the world-famous fast-food chain, filed for concordat due to financial problems. Following the closure decision, the employees who were left jobless revolted, stating that they could not receive their salaries and severance pay, and staged a protest. Approximately 500 people, waiting for a statement from the authorities, gathered in front of the firm.
Noting that their problems have not been solved for weeks and that they are not the source of the problem, the workers said, "How can you watch as approximately 25 thousand people, including their families, are abandoned to victimisation and hunger? We share with the public that we will not leave the future of our children and the value of our years of labour to anyone."
