Kayserigündem reports that Hajj supplies sales representative Muammer Köse stated that 85,000 to 90,000 people from across Turkey are going on the Hajj pilgrimage. He noted that in Kayseri, there are approximately 3,500 Hajj candidates. Köse said, "There has been a one hundred percent increase in the price of Hajj supplies compared to last year."

"RELATED TO OUR COUNTRY'S ECONOMY"

Stating that pilgrims show interest in these supplies every year because they have been waiting for many years, Köse added, "The price hike in Hajj supplies is also related to our country's economy." He mentioned that pilgrims purchase gift items such as dates, Zamzam water, and prayer rugs upon their return.

DATES REACH UP TO 350 LIRA

Pointing out that they only charge for packaging costs because selling Zamzam water is not permissible (halal), Köse said, "It is not permissible to sell Zamzam; we only charge for the packaging and shipping costs to sell it." He stated that the price of dates starts at 150 lira and goes up to 350 lira.
