Major raid on organized crime group in Istanbul: 18 people in custody
In an operation carried out across the city in the morning hours, an organized crime structure determined to be involved in various crimes was targeted, and 18 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.

Teams from the Organized Crime Branch of the Istanbul Police Department, with the support of intelligence units, carried out a series of operations in line with the instructions of the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
As a result of the investigations, the identities of the suspects, who were found to be active particularly on the Anatolian Side and involved in crimes ranging from qualified extortion to attempted murder, armed threats, and endangering general safety, were determined. After the suspects' addresses were identified, police teams conducted simultaneous raids.
In the operation carried out at numerous addresses, a total of 18 suspects were taken into custody and brought to the police station for processing. During the raids, some digital materials and documents belonging to the organization members were also seized. It is reported that the interrogation of the suspects at the police station is ongoing.

The following statements were used in the official announcement regarding the investigation:
-Within the scope of an investigation being conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; regarding the criminal organization led by M.F.S., known in the public as the Söylemezler, instructions were given to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command KOM Branch Directorate for the arrest and detention of 11 suspects understood to be organization leaders and members for the crime of extortion, as well as search and seizure warrants for 13 addresses.
Authorities stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and that new detentions and developments may occur in the investigation. The findings obtained after detailed examination will be shared with the public.
