Male violence in Manisa: He bit off the nose of the woman he was arguing with

In a chilling incident in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, 29-year-old Gökhan G. beat his wife, 28-year-old İmran G., and bit off her nose. In an operation where fire and police teams raced against time, the victim of the violence was evacuated from the balcony and taken to the hospital, while the attacker was taken into custody. It was reported that the two young children who were in the house at the time of the incident were unharmed.

DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN: FIRE DEPARTMENT EVACUATED HER FROM THE BALCONY

The incident occurred yesterday evening on Badem Street in the Yıldırım neighborhood of Turgutlu district. An argument that started for an as-yet-undetermined reason between Gökhan G. and his wife, İmran G., quickly turned into violence.

Neighbors who heard screams and sounds of beating coming from the house immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police, medical, and fire teams were urgently dispatched to the area.

When the door to the couple's apartment could not be opened, police and fire teams increased security measures. A rescue cushion was deployed by the fire department in front of the building against the risk of a possible suicide or jumping from the balcony.

The severely injured İmran G. was safely evacuated from the balcony by extending the fire truck's ladder. Immediately afterward, police teams entered the house with the support of the fire department, neutralized the attacker Gökhan G., and took him into custody.

TRANSFERRED TO PLASTIC SURGERY DEPARTMENT

Health institutions in the region were mobilized for the treatment of the young woman who was attacked:

İmran G., who received her initial intervention at Turgutlu State Hospital, was urgently transferred to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital for plastic surgery treatment due to the severe tissue loss and detachment of her nose.

CHILDREN ARE IN GOOD HEALTH, NEIGHBORHOOD IS ANGRY

Another tragedy was averted in the house that witnessed the moments of terror. It was learned that the two young girls, aged 5 and 7, who were in the house during the incident, were in good physical health and have been taken under protection.

On the other hand, neighborhood residents showed great reaction as police teams took the attacker Gökhan G. out of the house and put him into the patrol vehicle. A brief scuffle broke out between the angry crowd, who wanted to lynch the suspect, and security forces. A comprehensive judicial investigation into the incident is ongoing.
