Mansur Yavaş shares statement following Ümit Özdağ's release decision

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş made a statement on his X account following the release decision for Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ. "The release of Mr. Ümit Özdağ, who remained imprisoned for 148 days in a file based on no legally valid evidence, is a very delayed manifestation of justice.

During this process, we were expecting the law to be fulfilled not just with a release, but with an acquittal.

The law must operate according to universal norms, not according to the individual, the opinion, or the political identity.

Justice must be felt not only at the moment of the decision but at every stage of the process.
