The National Center's statement included the following expressions:

“The Çanakkale Victory is not only ours, but the first victory of all oppressed nations against imperialism.”

Today is the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory. This victory is the beginning of our idea of independence, which surged after the defeat in the Balkan Wars, and of our War of Independence. This naval victory is the first victory won by oppressed nations against imperialism. This victory has written the phrase 'Çanakkale is impassable!' into human history in golden letters.

The Çanakkale Naval Victory is a victory in which the joint British and French fleet, the largest, most modern, and superior armed force seen up to that date, was repelled and buried in the waters, and which revealed a genius like Mustafa Kemal, who set the sun of the British Empire, on which the sun never set, during the subsequent land battles.

The mentality that ignores the Turkish soldier and Mustafa Kemal, whom imperialism could not defeat, by explaining our victories in the Çanakkale naval and land battles with superstitions, has held the grandchildren of those who won these victories, the most distinguished officers of the Turkish Army, captive in prisons for years with fabricated and dirty plots. But let them know that the Turkish Nation will sooner or later hold those who committed this treachery against the grandchildren of those victorious grandfathers accountable, and will give them the answer they understand in a way they will never forget for generations.

While celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory, our nation's first victory against imperialism, with these feelings, we bow with respect before all our martyrs and veterans who wrote this great epic, won victories, and sacrificed their lives in the defense of the homeland.

May their souls rest in peace.
