Market owner's phone stolen in Esenyurt, suspect vanishes

In Esenyurt, an unidentified individual took advantage of the market owner being away from the register and stole a phone that had been left charging.

The incident occurred last Sunday around 22:00 in the Yeşilkent neighborhood of Esenyurt. According to allegations, the unidentified individual entered the market on the street. Seeing the market owner in the back placing products on the shelves, the suspect looked at the phone left charging at the register. Meanwhile, the individual's accomplice began keeping watch outside the market. The thief quickly unplugged the phone, exited the market, and ran away, disappearing from the scene. The other individual walked away from the area. After a while, market owner Oğuz Karatay was shocked to see his phone was missing. After reviewing the security camera footage following the incident, Karatay filed a complaint with the police. The moments of the theft were reflected second by second on the market's security camera.

Speaking about the incident, market owner Oğuz Karatay said, "I had left my phone on the register while I was in the back organizing products. A while later, I saw someone leaving. When I saw the phone wasn't there, I realized it had been stolen. When I called it from another phone, I couldn't reach it. Later, I checked the security cameras. There were two people, and one of them was keeping watch outside. I then went to the police to give a statement, and a report was filed."
