40 people have resigned from the İYİ Party's Bakırköy District Organization. Among those who resigned were District Chair Çağlar Derin, District Accountant Ömer Acar, Organization Chair Bilgehan Selimoğlu, Deputy District Chair for Women's Policies Hediye Soyyiğit, and Youth Branch Chair Yiğit Efe Yöndem.
THEY DECIDED TO JOIN THE CHP
Following their resignations, a ceremony was held today at the CHP Bakırköy District Headquarters for the 40 individuals who decided to join the CHP. Their badges were pinned by CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and CHP Bakırköy District Chair Gizem Başaran Arslan.
'OUR GOAL AND STRUGGLE WERE COMMON'
Özgür Çelik made the following remarks in his speech there:
“Everyone who has managed to stand side by side in some form since the 2017 referendum achieved results in the 2023 elections. In this respect, even though we have engaged in politics in different political parties, our goal and our struggle were actually common. Together, we aim to achieve success in local governments in 2024, sow the seeds of hope in these lands once again, and perhaps through an early election or in 2028, continue Turkey's struggle for democracy together again. Making our Republic a democratic republic once more was our common struggle. Even though we were in separate areas, today we will continue the struggle together. I thank my esteemed chair and his delegation, and I say welcome. I wish you success on your path.”
