Massacre-like accident in İzmir: 3 cars collided! Multiple dead and injured

In a chain-reaction accident involving three cars in the Menderes district of İzmir, three siblings from the same family and a married couple lost their lives. Two injured youths were taken to the hospital, and the driver who survived the accident is currently being questioned.

Five people lost their lives and two others were taken to the hospital with injuries in a chain-reaction traffic accident that occurred in the Menderes district of İzmir.

The horrific accident took place in the Keler area of the Menderes-Seferihisar highway. The car with license plate 35 CLF 493, driven by 45-year-old Özkan Nazlı, collided head-on with the vehicle with license plate 35 ZY 756, driven by 22-year-old Sultan Baran, which was coming from the opposite direction. Due to the force of the violent collision, Nazlı's vehicle spun and struck another car with license plate 45 ARV 589, which was being driven by 21-year-old S.U. and was traveling on the road at the time.

Immediately following the accident, health teams, the gendarmerie, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene upon reports from bystanders. The injured individuals trapped in the vehicles were extracted through the meticulous efforts of the fire department teams.

Tragically, driver Özkan Nazlı and his wife Suna Nazlı, as well as the driver of the other vehicle, Sultan Baran, and her siblings Emine Baran (26) and Fatma Baran (24), lost their lives at the scene.

The two individuals injured in the accident, 20-year-old E.D.D. and Z.N., were urgently transported by ambulance to Menderes State Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Following the instructions of the prosecutor who completed the crime scene investigation, the bodies of those who lost their lives were taken to the morgue of the same hospital. Meanwhile, the processing of the third vehicle's driver, S.U., who was involved in the accident but was not injured, is ongoing at the gendarmerie.
