Massive 490 million lira incentive from AKP to Kolin: Revealed with documents

CHP Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has announced the amount of the massive incentive provided for the Soma Kolin Thermal Power Plant via his social media account. Yavuzyılmaz also shared the documents regarding this incentive.

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, who tracks major expenditure items of the AKP government and exposes projects he believes cause public loss via his social media account with supporting documents, has now announced the amount of money transferred to Kolin under the name of an incentive for the Soma Kolin Thermal Power Plant.

As always, Yavuzyılmaz also provided the documents for the transfer in his post, describing the actions as a 'wealth transfer'.

We have determined that the AK Party has transferred a massive amount of public resources to KOLİN under the name of an incentive for the Soma Kolin Thermal Power Plant.

In the first 7 months of 2024 

Capacity mechanism incentive amount paid to the company: 490,489,374 TL

Increase rate in the incentive compared to the previous year:

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY MECHANISM?

It is an incentive provided by TEİAŞ to ensure the security of the electricity system and system reliability, and to create or maintain reliable installed power capacity, for power plants to keep their electricity capacities ready for production even when they are not actively producing.
