Massive budgets continue to be allocated to the Presidency of Religious Affairs: It has surpassed many ministries

The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) continues to grow, with its staff count exceeding 140,000 as of 2024. The total budget allocated for personnel expenses in the 2025-2027 period will exceed 389 billion TL. With this number of personnel, Diyanet has surpassed many ministries.

The number of personnel at the Presidency of Religious Affairs continues to rise rapidly. As of 2024, the total number of Diyanet staff has exceeded 140,000, transforming it into a massive structure. Budgets planned for the coming years also support this growth.

According to the Medium-Term Program prepared by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, the total resources to be used for Diyanet personnel in 2025, 2026, and 2027 exceed 389 billion TL.

According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, the personnel expenses of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, which were 39 billion 596 million 815 thousand TL in 2023 and 77 billion 577 million TL in the first half of 2024, are expected to be as follows for the 2025-2027 period:

 2025: 110 billion 56 million 770 thousand TL

2026: 130 billion 70 million 395 thousand TL

2027: 148 billion 976 million 975 thousand TL

The number of personnel at the Presidency of Religious Affairs, which exceeded 140,000 as of June 2023, has been increasing over the years. The number of personnel working under Diyanet by year is as follows:

MINISTRIES WITH FEWER PERSONNEL THAN DIYANET

Diyanet, under the leadership of Ali Erbaş, surpasses numerous public institutions in terms of personnel count. Public institutions with significantly fewer personnel than Diyanet as of 2024 are recorded as follows:
