Massive crane vessel passes through Istanbul: Bosphorus closed to traffic
The Saipem 7000, one of the world's largest semi-submersible crane vessels, has begun its transit through the Bosphorus. To ensure the safe passage of the giant vessel, maritime traffic in the Bosphorus was suspended in both directions, with numerous tugboats and pilots accompanying the transit.

The "Saipem 7000," known as the world's third-largest semi-submersible crane vessel, entered the Bosphorus in the morning hours. Due to the transit, which is expected to take approximately 14 hours, ship traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended in both directions as of 06:00.
Extensive security measures were taken during the passage, which was carried out under the coordination of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety. The giant crane vessel was accompanied by numerous rescue tugboats and pilots throughout its journey.
The passage of the Saipem 7000 under the 15 July Martyrs Bridge was captured from the Kuzguncuk coast as it continued its transit through the strait.
