Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi's mother launches protest
Yasemin Minguzzi, whose son was stabbed to death, has begun a sit-in protest at Bakırköy Square calling for the sentencing law to be reformed.

In the Hasanpaşa neighbourhood of Kadıköy, 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi went to the market with his friends on 9 February to buy skateboarding equipment. There, he was verbally harassed by two individuals identified as B.B. and U.B. The argument quickly escalated into a fight.
Ahmet was stabbed by the attacker B.B. and, after collapsing to the ground, was also kicked by U.B. The seriously injured boy was taken to hospital, where he could not be saved despite all medical intervention, and lost his life.
MOTHER TAKES TO THE STREETS FOR JUSTICE
Grieving mother Yasemin Minguzzi began seeking justice following her son's death. Reacting to the possibility that the perpetrator or perpetrators could be released in a short time, Minguzzi launched a solo sit-in protest at Bakırköy Square.
"MY SON IS NOT COMING BACK, BUT LET OTHERS NOT DIE"
In a statement during her protest, Yasemin Minguzzi said: "My child is gone now, I cannot bring him back. But let no other Ahmets die, let no other mothers go through this pain. With this sentencing law, people are being released before serving their full sentences. This is not fair."
