May Day messages from politicians: Poverty once again laid bare

The political world shared celebratory messages for May Day, International Workers' Day, via social media accounts. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the 7th Chairman of the CHP, reminded the public of poverty once again in his post, stating, "On one side, palace banquets set up with the people's money, on the other, the impoverished public..."

The political world celebrated May Day, International Workers' Day, on their X accounts. 

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, used the phrase "We will reach the days when labor is valued together" on his X account. 

Babacan's post is as follows:

"Happy May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day to all workers who add value to Turkey with the sweat of their brow and their intellect.

We will reach the days when working conditions are humane and labor is valued together."

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat touched upon the contribution of workers to the country's development and stated the following:

"I celebrate the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day of all my worker brothers and sisters who contribute greatly to the growth and development of our country with their labor and earn their living by the sweat of their brow."

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş conveyed the following in his post:

""No one has ever eaten a better sustenance than that which they earned with their own labor."

I celebrate the #May1 Labor and Solidarity Day of all my worker brothers and sisters who strive in every field of life with their intellect, labor, and knowledge for the welfare and peace of their families and country, and to build a world where people live more humanely."

CHP's 7th Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu drew attention to waste once again in his post, saying, "On one side, palace banquets set up with the people's money, on the other, the impoverished public..." and gave his May Day message as follows:

On one side, luxury and ostentation, on the other, poverty...

Friends; 

May 1st means understanding the mother who committed suicide because she could not feed her children, and it means the struggle for rights of millions of workers who work to live humanely by the sweat of their brow...

I celebrate the #May1LaborAndSolidarityDay of all our worker brothers and sisters, I wholeheartedly support their honorable struggle; I wish for them to be in Taksim on May 1st, shoulder to shoulder with our Party.

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ celebrated May 1st on his X account by saying, "My worker brothers and sisters," as follows:

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin celebrated May 1st for the education community and stated the following:

"Happy May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day.

On this day when unity and solidarity gain meaning through labor, I congratulate the day of our worker brothers and sisters who contribute to the development of our country with the sweat of their brow, especially our education staff and colleagues."
